Morning Report

One message, every morning, at your hour, in your timezone: what DXDT did while your team slept — and exactly one decision to make. Every report is titled with your organization's name — in the email subject, the Slack header, and the body — so a team watching several organizations always knows which one it's reading about.

What's in it

  • Overnight checks — how many scans ran and completed.
  • New findings — count and identified monthly savings, with the top items listed. Counts are per issue, not per detection: a re-scan that re-detects a known issue folds into its existing cluster and is not announced as new. What the report counts matches what the Pulse console shows.
  • Incidents — opened, resolved, and still active.
  • On the table — your standing open findings and total identified savings (the same grounded, resource-deduplicated total as the Pulse dashboard — the email and the console can't disagree).
  • Learned this week — how much institutional memory your team added.
  • One decision — the top pending recommendation, with Approve and Dismiss buttons that work directly from Slack or email. One tap, done; the decision is applied to the recommendation immediately.

If nothing happened overnight, the report says so — a quiet night is worth knowing about.

Audio brief

Prefer to listen? Each report can carry a Listen link — a short generated audio briefing of the same content, playable from the email or Slack message without signing in (links are signed). It's a per-user preference: turn it on under Settings → General → Morning Report. Available on the Growth plan and above.

Setup

Organization-wide settings — Team → Features → Morning Report (admins only):

Setting Default Notes
Daily Morning Report on Growth plan and above (trials included)
Timezone UTC Set this first — it's what "morning" means
Send hour 08:00 Local to your timezone
Slack channel your alerts channel Requires a connected Slack workspace
Email recipients organization admins Comma-separated list to override

Personal settings — Settings → General → Morning Report (every user):

Setting Default Notes
Audio brief off Adds the Listen link to your copy of the report

Delivery is one report per organization per day. Decision links are signed and expire after 7 days; a recommendation that was already decided shows "already decided" rather than double-applying.

Best practices

  • Make it the standup opener. The report is designed to be read aloud in under a minute: what changed, what it costs, one decision.
  • Send it to a channel, not inboxes. The one-decision button works for whoever gets there first — that's a feature. Team visibility beats individual copies.
  • Actually take the decision. The single approve/dismiss is deliberately small. Teams that take it daily clear their recommendation backlog without ever scheduling a review meeting.
